Introduction The above vacancy has become available at our Garden Centre in Rosebank, Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible to maximize the sales of the Company's range of products in the departmental Shop areas by ensuring that the products are effectively merchandised and displayed and customers are assisted in a helpful and friendly manner. Specification Monitors and controls purchases, quality, pricing, labelling, promotions and displays of all Shop products. Regularly implements promotions in conjunction with Assistant Manager / Garden Centre Manager. Monitors and analyses stock movement. Evaluates product range on an ongoing basis and recommends suitable alternatives to management. Promptly attends to problems with regards to till point and electronic equipment used for the efficient running of the shop. Assists customers with product selection and answers customer queries giving assistance wherever necessary. Provides prompt feedback to customers with regard to outstanding queries, within the time frames requested. Assumes responsibility for the security and safekeeping of all stock in the shop. Ensures stock losses and write-offs are minimized and/or avoided at all times and report to management for inclusion in budgetary reports. Performs regular stock takes. Carries out spot checks on stock and ensures that discrepancies are reported to management. Manages and liaises with staff on a daily basis with regard to the general management in the shop, keeping them informed of any new developments that may affect their daily routine. Ensures that staff maintain a high level of customer service at all times. Requirements 3 - 5 years experience in a similar role. A tertiary qualification an added advantage Ability to motivate employees to work as a team to ensure that service meet appropriate customer satisfaction standards. Good communication skills.
